The process of preserving them begins during the selection process to acquire only the highest quality ingredients. Conservas Serrats acquires mussels from Rivers in Galicia at the optimal moment when they have reached their peak flavour and an appropriate size. We only produce large mussels (6-8 pieces per can) that require a long time to mature. Their consumption has a large portion of protein (20,15 gr. per every 100gr.) and is recommended for diets of physically active people. Mussels in pickling sauce can be used in hundreds of recipes and make an excellent appetizer.
Presently we are not able to offer our "extra large" mussels (6-8 pieces per 120 gr.) because we are not able to acquire mussels of this size that meet our high quality demands. Until we can acquire mussels that meet the size and quality demands we require we will no longer be offering this product. However we are able to offer our "large" mussels (10-12 pieces per 120 gr.) with a touch of smoked flavor that meet our high quality demands.
